Loon Nest typical Memorial to July 4
because of warmer temperatures, nesting has started earlier. Disturbances mid-June 2009 caused birds to abandon nest. A second attempt is on the East side of the island. No evidence of success yet.

Disturbances of a prolonged or sudden nature are:

Natural= Dogs, Gulls, Eagles, Mink

Human= Boat and Airplane wakes, noise, Kayakers, Canoeists, Paddle boats and machinery in immediate area.
